Depth primer with casein as a binder
What is the use of casein primer?
- For the consolidation of sandy or chalky plasters and paints
- The absorption behaviour of substrates is reduced or
- The aqueous solution dries transparently and smoothly
- There are no preservatives or organic solvents contained in it
- Useable on all mineral substrates
- Clay, lime, lime-cement, lime-gypsum and cement plasters
- Plastics-containing plasters and paints such as dispersion and silicate paints
- Gypsum plasterboard and chipboard
Processing:
The priming powder is mixed in water in a ratio of 1 : 50. For this purpose, 200 g of powder are sprinkled into 4 litres of clean, cold water and stirred well. In order for the vegetable casein to be broken down into an adhesive, it is essential that it is left to stand for 30 minutes and then stir well again after adding a further 6 litres of water. The best way is to use an electric mixer. The bonding agent is now ready for use. If necessary, the amount of water can be increased by up to 10 %. The primer does not contain any preservatives - therefore only mix as much as is used on the same day. The surfaces must be free of grease and dry. Wash off wallpaper glue and glue paint thoroughly, remove loose parts and sweep off chalky or sandy surfaces before application. The primer is best applied in one operation with a primer brush. For extremely absorbent surfaces a second application is recommended. Surfaces to be consolidated that are not to be further coated must be painted from bottom to top to avoid runners or staining. The working temperature must not be below 7 °C.
